Singer Addresses Medical Device Manufacturers June 14, 2006 Washington, DC - Hal J. Singer, President of Criterion, addressed the Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA) at their annual conference in Washington, D.C. Dr. Singer presented the results from his new study entitled The Budgetary Impact of Eliminating the GPOs Safe Harbor Exemption from the Anti-Kickback Statute of the Social Security Act. In that study, Dr. Singer estimates that the elimination of the safe harbor would decrease hospital expenditures on medical supplies, and would thereby decrease the federal governments expenditures between $640 million and $2.5 billion per year. A copy of Dr. Singers study can be downloaded here. For more information, contact Hal Singer, President, Criterion Economics, at 202-331-5023 or by email at hal@criterioneconomics.com. |
